Grandfather JournalLazing on a Sunny Afternoon
On June 13, Grandfather News Director Landis Wofford and Intern Tyler Phillips went up to the Animal Habitats to spend some time taking video footage of the animals. When they arrived at the habitats, Habitat staff members Tanya Cline and Bonnie Clark joined them and they started down the path towards the bears. "As we passed by the bald eagle habitat Wilma was strutting around the front giving a show to all the visitors passing by, so we filmed her in all her glory,"said Phillips. "We then headed down to the bear habitat where Flower was catching omnivore from visitors while Smokey was lazing around in the corner. She looked so cute being a big lazy bear, so I had to take some pictures. Tanya threw some blueberries into the habitat and Smokey decided to pay us a little visit and let us catch her on film. "We walked back up the path by Wilma to the otter habitat. The otters were extremely active, play fighting and wrestling. It was quite a show for the guests to see. Then we turned to head to see the cougars and Morley, the golden eagle was up on his little stoop eating lunch in plain view, so we took footage of him. "When we arrived to the cougar habitat Aspen was lying up front, looking beautiful basking in the warm sun. It was a perfect opportunity for me to take some pictures while Landis got some video footage. Nikita decided to join and performed beautifully for the guests as well. "We ended our day at the dear habitat, taking pictures and video of those furry creatures. Overall the visit to the animal habitats was well worth while. We captured some great video as well as still pictures, the day was a success." (Tyler Phillips photo) Spring & Winter
