has taken months to get a handle on the reams of data
being collected by the new weather instruments mounted
on the Mile High Swinging Bridge, but now we are ready
to make some of that data available to the public

"A View to Hugh: Processing the Hugh Morton Photographs
and Films" is a web log created by the good people
at the North Carolina Collection whose job it is to organize
and catalogue 70 years of Hugh Morton's photography. The
blog was created to keep people informed of where they are
in their task and to solicit help identifying images and
events.

For years Grandfather Mountain has wanted to have
pages on its website designed for the needs of our
Spanish-speaking customers. Now, with the help of
Señorita Spanglish, much of the content of
the Grandfather website is available in a Spanish
translation.

Means Dollar Days at Grandfather Mountain
Folks
who live, work or go to college in Mitchell, Avery,
Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany, and Wilkes counties (plus
guests traveling in their vehicle) are invited to
visit for $1 per person during December.
