Flying
Squirrel Census Results are Productive
Grandfather
Mountain represents the southern-most range of the
endangered Northern Flying Squirrel. Each winter for
more than a decade, the NC Wildlife Resources Commission
has come to Grandfather to monitor the vitality of
Grandfather's squirrel population and the January
2007 census proved encouraging.

Temperatures Varied to the Extreme!
